The Carolina RailHawks (4-2-1, 13 pts) earned three important points on Saturday night as they defeated Miami FC (2-3-0, 6 pts) 2-0 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft, Lauderdale, FL. Luke Kreamalmeyer scored both goals for Carolina to put them back on top of the league tables.

“I am really pleased  with the win,” said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. “We passed well,  attacked well and defended as a team which is important in away games. This win puts us back at the top of the league tables and we’re really happy with that as well.”

The RailHawks showed dominance in the first half clearly wanting to come away with the three points. Daniel Paladini hit the inside post in the 25^th minute but it was Luke Kreamalmeyer who found the back of the net in the 40^th on a counter attack by chipping the ball past Miami keeper Pat Hannigan sending the teams to the locker rooms up 1-0 at the half.

Carolina continued to dominate in the second half not wanting to let go of the advantage. In the 58^th minute Luke Kreamalmeyer put the game away when he found the back of the net again with a spectacular cross that went right over Hannigan’s head and into the far post fixing the score at 2-0. In the 70^th minute Miami FC went down to ten men when Diego Serna  received a red card after clipping Mark Schulte with the ball out of play.

Next the RailHawks continue their three-game road trip in  Cleveland (May 22) and Austin (May 24). The May 22 Cleveland match will be broadcast nationally on Fox soccer Channel while the Austin match will be broadcast on www.USLLive.com. Carolina returns home on May 29 at 8 p.m. to host the Cleveland City Stars at WakeMed Soccer Park.
