Town of Cary A-Team Snow Fighters are adding sanding and salting back into the mix as they work overnight to prep roads for what could be a dangerous morning commute. Crews are dousing thoroughfares, bridges, hills, and historically icy spots with hundreds of tons of grit to cap off a full day of plowing and clearing. Even so, officials caution against a.m. driving.
“Nothing is more important than our citizens’ safety, which is why I am strongly encouraging everyone who can stay off the roads tonight to do so,” said Town of Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore. “Even with the fantastic job our public works crews are doing, the likelihood of deadly black ice forming is great, and we don’t want to lose anyone to it.”
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
There have been a total of 26 traffic accidents reported thus far in Cary, none with serious injuries.
